“Resonant Performer is a comprehensive technique that perfectly supports and enhances traditional performance training. This unique work helps builds confidence and an innate trust in one’s own ability. It promotes stillness, centeredness and a deep, rich, embodied tone to the voice. I would highly recommend this work to everyone, whether they are looking to pursue a career in the performing arts or not.”

”Nervousness and anxious feelings. All performers know these two companions. The Shufflehoffer helps keep them in line, opens up your vocals and makes performing freer, more exuberant and more fun”

“I have had a very profound and undeniably effective experience from the work Darryl did with me, through Skype, with his Shufflehoffer technique (Resonant Performer Technique) Firstly he took me through the process just once and it is quite overwhelming how the actual work is very simple but has an immediate strong effect.”
“From the first time I tried it, I felt light, focused and sort of inhabiting my body. From then on I was very curious about the technique which seems to be giving the same effect as years of Zen centering or martial arts training. When we worked again, through Skype just before I went on stage it again felt very powerful, I went on stage relaxed and focused. I had incredible feedback from people who know me and who said that my voice seemed very strong, and random audience members who complimented my voice in elaborate ways. It is something that I feel very curious to continue to work with and I recommend any performer to try it out.”

“I first met Darryl in 2010. Instantly I knew him to be a man of incredible sensitivity with regards to those around him. As time went by I also discovered a man with a genuine and kind heart. Add to that an intuitively gifted healer and I would always whole heatedly recommend Darryl to anyone seeking help through the medium of energy medicine.
Yet, this is only the beginning…
When Darryl contacted me saying he would be in London and would love to meet and try out a new process he had been developing with regards to facilitating the singing voice, I jumped at the opportunity. Trained as a theatre performer working in musical theatre and specifically at that time performing in London’s West End, with the rigours of rolling eight-show weeks, anything that was going to help was always welcome!
I will not go into the process here (which is incredibly simple to grasp), yet I would like to talk about the aftereffects I have been living with since. Darryl, throughout our session together explained the basis of “Resonant Performer technique” and after working with me left me with a few very simple exercises based around what the Japanese term as the “Hara”, an ever nourishing energetic centre-based below the belly button. The session in itself left me feeling extremely expansive, with my speaking voice resonating at such a depth and richness that was alien to me. But as I said, this was just the beginning! Since that session about a month ago in May 2012, and having practised the simple “Resonant Performer technique” exercises as part of my pre and during show routine, I have been astonished by what has occurred.
- There is a new found freedom in my voice. The ease with which I sing is beyond any place I have been able to reach into the past.
- I have an extra tone accumulated within my warm-up regime which had a positive knock-on effect with the music I am singing eight shows a week at present.
- The high notes in my records have become more resonant, effortlessly reached and can be sustained for longer.
- Whereas to some degree I used to grab from my throat with regards to the upper register, I now soar easily within that range.
- My breath is lower and more rooted than ever, yet at the same time, it feels as if there is no bottom to the breath! As singers, we all want bottom-less breath!
The effects of practising “Resonant Performer technique” has also reached further into my life. Since the session with Darryl my sleep, which was sometimes disturbed in getting off to sleep, speed returned back to normal. I can barely read a paragraph of my book now fixed without falling asleep! Also, I have noticed how much of an excellent practice it is when I am exhausted and running on little fuel. A few minutes spent with the exercises and I feel a deep relaxation wash through my whole body.
Hand on heart, I can honestly say that the first as a performer, these tools can transform not only the way the singing voice OPERATES but also how you generate goodwill rally ‘be’ on stage. As we know, relaxation is key for spontaneous, inspired performances. The second these simple exercises can ENHANCE your general way of living and being in the world.
It is with great joy that I can act as a testimonial for Darryl.”

“Darryl’s work gave me deeper insight and more practical knowledge in how I can go about grounding myself and dropping down into my Dan Tien, a level of awareness that supports and goes beyond the heart and mind.
The instructions for the work were very clear and practically oriented, which is a must when it comes to working with aspects of your body that may be seemingly ambiguous to many people. There has definitively occurred a lasting shift in my consciousness as a result of Resonant Performer Technique and Darryl is on task when it comes to guiding people towards awakening their awareness in this vital centre of the body. An important centre which undoubtedly is a missing link in the west today.”

Darryl co-led a four-day retreat together with me and a colleague last summer 2013 in Gotland, Sweden. He brought his deep knowledge, vast experience, and deep wisdom to our highly engaged 15 participants. The mix of yoga, meditation, and experiential techniques proved to be very beneficial to our guests. As they were all novices in relation to Resonant Performer technique, I greatly appreciated Darryl’s warm, caring and straightforward way of guiding the group. He made all feel that they were well taken care of, even in between sessions, as the journey work had a deep impact on some of our participants. Since we were a team-leading the four days together, I greatly appreciated Darryl’s flexibility to continuously adjust his work depending on the immediate needs of the participants. I can only congratulate whoever gets a possibility to work with Darryl or benefit from his teaching and his work.
